Which electric guitar is right for you?

Not long ago a good friend took a trip to the library to finalize some research for an end of the semester exam. After nearly four hours of finger numbing searches, including Googling more than 15000 files of text, graphics and a ton of back issues of Rolling Stone, he gained a better understanding of electric guitars and how they rank.

Here’s a synopsis of the findings and an introduction to some great electric guitar masterpieces.

Fender, especially the Fender American Deluxe HSS Stratocaster, is generally mentioned as being the best electric guitar of all times. The consensus is almost reverently about many of the electric guitars that make the grade.
