How do I use the electronics in an acoustic Electric Guitar?

I have a Martin DC aura electric acoustic guitar, I put a nine volt battery in and the built in tuner won’t work. what’s the deal? This is my first acoustic electric so I’ve never done this before

I can only suggest the following:

A: Read the instructions thoroughly and do not assume anything.

B: Check that the 9V battery you used is fresh and has enough juice.

C: Take it back to the store where you bought it for some advice.

D: Contact Martin themselves at http://www.martinguitar.com/contact/

Do you have to hold in the Tuner button while you pick a string? It’s not very clear from the on-line flyer.
